(Spring 2005, Spring 2006)

Course Description:

This course is a survey of the major topics in health economics.  The class introduces students to the issues, theory and practice of health economics.  The majority of the course focuses on current empirical research in the field as it pertains to the < xml="true" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" prefix="st1" namespace="">US, and course work includes empirical analyses based on existing health datasets using the software STATA.  As the teaching assistant, I held weekly section where I reviewed regression analysis and prepared and delivered lectures introducing students to instrumental variables, fixed effects estimation, and regression discontinuity designs.  I also held sections in a computer lab where I helped students learn to analyze data and implement these new empirical strategies.
